King's by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

King's (The King Trilogy, #1)King's by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

King's by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is one dark, suspenseful read. There are dark, dangerous men who are alluring, then there are those who are just plain scary. King straddles the line between the two. He exudes power, authority and complete control over everyone and everything he comes in contact with. Mia Turner does not stand a chance when she seeks King's help to find her missing brother. There is a price for his services Mia might find too high...is her brother's life worth her own. How can King ask Mia to turn her life over for her brother? Can he really find her brother?

King is a possessive, controlling man who demands obedience. Mia is not the submissive type. Will she obey his orders? I found King to be both repulsive and intriguing. Yes, his behavior is more than I would stand, but there are reasons for that behavior. What are they? Who is King? What is he? Those are the questions I find compelling. Some of those questions are answered, and I look forward to finding out the answers to the remaining questions in the next book.
