Storm Siren by Mary Weber

Storm Siren (Storm Siren, #1)Storm Siren by Mary Weber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know if I have words to describe how I'm feeling after finishing this book. What a suspense filled, action-packed, emotional roller coaster Storm Siren turned out to be!

Nym is a seventeen year old slave girl. She is battered and broken, both emotionally and physically. Nym is an Elemental with the power to control the weather. She is an anomaly because Elementals are male. Their power is so great they are killed at birth. Nym sees herself as cursed. She doesn't know how to control the power coursing through her veins and is burdened with the guilt of the destruction she has left behind. Nym is purchased by a court advisor who has a plan to use her to end the war that has ravaged their country. Can Nym learn to master her power? Can Nym become something other than the monster she sees herself as?

Nym has survived an atrocious past. Can she lay to rest the guilt that overwhelms her? She struggles with self-doubt but is determined to learn control. Nym will discover that politics are treacherous. Who can she trust? How can she save her country? What an unbelievable journey Nym has been on...from slave girl with no hope of a future to discovering her own self-worth and benefit to her country. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be picking up the second book in this series to find out what happens next.
